“STEM to STEAM” – teaching physics through arts-based teaching strategies
A College Level Course: Symmetry and Aesthetics in Contemporary Physics
Middle School Level Theater Projects: Teaching Physics through Dance: In the summers of 2013, 2014, and 2015 Dr. van der Veen was the choreographer in residence at Notre Dame University’s Art 2 Science Camp where she developed three dance productions that were performed by the campers: Lives of Scientists, The REAL Big Bang Theory, and Symmetry and String Theory: The Search for Nature’s Deepest Secrets.
Interested teachers who would like to produce these shows with students please contact her for information at jatila[at]physics[dot]ucsb[dot]edu.
